Limited Edition Peakychu Promo Card Coming With Pokopia Merch Bundles 📢 News

If you’ve been playing Pokémon Pokopia on Switch 2, you already know Peakychu. The pale, softly glowing Pikachu variant has become one of the breakout fan favorites since the game launched on March 5. Now it’s getting its own promo card, and collectors are going to want this one.

The Card

The Limited Edition Peakychu Promo Card was revealed on social media by Myles Nelson, and the details look legit. Here’s what we’re working with:

  • Basic Electric type, 60 HP
  • Ability — Illuminate: Once during your turn (before your attack), if Peakychu is your Active Pokémon, you may have your opponent reveal their hand
  • Attack — Electric Exchange: Shuffle your hand into your deck, then draw 6 cards
  • Weakness: Fire x2
  • Retreat cost: One Colorless

The art is gorgeous. It shows Peakychu bathed in moonlight alongside other Pokopia Pokémon, with that signature soft glow the character is known for. The flavor text reads: “Though it can no longer produce electric sparks, it radiates a soft, comforting glow that keeps its loved ones warm on cold nights.”

How to Get It

The Peakychu promo card will be available starting April 30, 2026 as part of upcoming Pokémon Pokopia merchandise and peripheral bundles. Exact bundle details haven’t been fully revealed yet, but this follows the pattern we’ve seen with other promo card releases tied to merchandise drops.

Pokopia merch has already been rolling out steadily. The Pokémon Center has listed Peakychu plush toys, LED lights, and other collectibles, with a broader wave of plushies confirmed for summer 2026. It’s likely the promo card will be bundled with one or more of these product lines.

Is It Playable?

Actually, yes. Illuminate is a solid utility ability. Getting to see your opponent’s hand every turn for free is valuable information, especially in formats where hand knowledge dictates your sequencing. Electric Exchange is essentially a hand refresh that draws six, which is strong draw support on a Basic.

The 60 HP and Fire weakness mean Peakychu won’t survive long in the Active spot, but that’s not really the point. This is a bench utility card you promote when you need information, then retreat for one energy. In the right deck, it could see real play.

Why Collectors Should Care

Promo cards tied to merchandise bundles tend to have limited availability. You can’t just crack packs to find these. Once the merch run is over, the card supply is fixed. If Peakychu maintains its popularity (and everything suggests it will), this card could appreciate nicely.

The combination of a brand-new fan-favorite Pokémon, beautiful full-art treatment, and limited distribution is exactly the kind of thing that ages well in a binder.

The Bottom Line

Mark your calendar for April 30. Whether you’re collecting, playing, or both, the Peakychu promo card is worth picking up. Keep an eye on Pokémon Center and official retail channels for bundle details as they drop.

Pokémon Pokopia continues to deliver, not just as a game but as a whole new wave of collectible content. Peakychu is leading the charge.
